I have been reaching out to over 30 bit and bridle fitting professionals from around the whole world since December 2025, sending messages—and not ONE has gotten back to me to write articles about bit fitting, including Neue Schule & Sprenger/H Sprenger. This is very disappointing.

Bit fitting is SUCH an important topic right now (& always!). As well as knowledge of what bits are legal in Dressage/FEI Dressage/Eventing & its phases/and Western Dressage. We are always aware of the TD at the show checking your bit before going in to ride a test, but NO ONE WILL WRITE ARTICLES ABOUT IT.

I have seen many videos & reels on Instagram, but they’re short & not exactly helpful. I have also sat through old Canadian Dressage Association YouTube videos of what makes a bit legal & illegal, but no one explains exactly why—HOW IT WORKS THAT MAKES IT ILLEGAL!

Why is a ported bit not allowed in lower level dressage tests, while they are required in FEI levels? People want explanations…

IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT WILL TALK ABOUT BIT FITTING/LEGAL & ILLEGAL “WHYS?” & how the bit action works in the horses mouth? If so, be the light at the end of this long tunnel & email an article or series of articles t: jesse@dressursport.com
OTTB that NO BIT seems to work.
Please leave comments or questions YOU WANT A BIT FITTER TO COVER!
OR suggest a bit fitter to write for us! Not ONE of 40 has reached out…
